Welcome to

St Nicholas’ Parish Church

Worship and fellowship in the heart of Carrickfergus

The Select Vestry has decided that, in the light of the current COVID-19 situation and for the safety of Parishioners, only to have an online service on Sunday mornings at 11am for the six weeks of the current government lockdown.

Starting from and including this coming Sunday, 3 January 2021, there will be no Sunday morning service to attend in person during this period.

The services will be broadcast on the St. Nicholas' church Facebook page.

This decision will be reviewed in parallel with the government review which is due to take place in 4 weeks.

Please share this information with all who would be likely to attend church during this period.

Our Parochial Nominators, Christine Cahoon, Don Howe, Harry Kirk and Ray Gilbert are pleased to report that, following an extensive and prayerful process by the Board of Nomination, Bishop George has appointed Rev. Dr Christopher St. John as Rector of the Parish of Carrickfergus.
Rev. Dr St. John is currently Curate in St. Mark’s Church of Ireland, Dundela.
Praise and thanks to God for calling Chris to our Parish and we look forward to welcoming him and his wife Andrea.
Our Parochial Nominators would also like to thank Parishioners for their prayerful support in recent months which was very much appreciated.
Details regarding the Institution of our new Rector will follow in due course.

The Bishop has confirmed that the Institution will take place on Thursday 21 January 2021 at 7:30pm in St. Nicholas' Church.

Details of arrangements will be made available in due course.

We are a community who encourage and support each other as we seek to grow in faith, and who reach out in love to others - whether they live beside us or on the other side of the world.
