Terms and Conditions

As the church is a working church The following terms and conditions apply to all visitors and tour groups

All  ‘The Church is Open for Visitors’ at the times posted below

Pre-Booked tours are subject to cancellation at short notice should the church be required for a service (funerals etc).  In such circumstances we will endeavour to offer an alternative time/date.


All ‘The Church is Open for Visitors’ and Pre- Booked tours provided a  volunteer tour guide is available.

All Church Tour Guides are parishioners.

Tour Guides do not have access to Church Records.

For reasons of Health and Safety, visitors cannot access the Gallery or Clock Tower as part of their tour.

Due to the cost of heating the building and as we do not have an admission charge, all visitors should be aware, especially in cooler months, there will be no heating provided during tours.

Photographs can be taken but these must not be used ‘for profit’.

For Pre-Booked Tours and during visitor openings, access is via the Vestry Porch* (East Door/Disabled Access).

*From Market Place, through War Memorial Gateway, turn right.  Enter by first door on left.
From Lancasterian Street, (keeping boundary wall on left) enter via second door on right.

Saturday 4th April – Noon – 2.00pm

Saturday 2nd May
May 30th – September 8th incl.*

Saturday: 11.00am – 1.00pm
Tuesday: 2.00 – 4.00pm

*Not Open for Visitors Saturday 11th and Tuesday 14th July.

European Heritage Open Days

Saturday 12th September:  11.00am – 4.00pm
Sunday 13th September: 2.00 – 4.00pm

Please note:  St Nicholas’ Court car park does not belong to the church and visitors parking there risk having their vehicles clamped.
